What is yoga?
Yoga or as translated - Union is a holistic practice originating from ancient India that combines physical postures (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama), meditation, and ethical principles to promote overall health and well-being. It's not just a form of exercise; it's a lifestyle that aims to harmonize the body, mind, and spirit.
The physical aspect of yoga involves various poses or asanas that enhance flexibility, strength, and balance while also focusing on breathing techniques to promote relaxation and concentration. Meanwhile, meditation and mindfulness practices in yoga help in calming the mind, reducing stress, and fostering inner peace.
Why should I try it?
Beyond the physical benefits, yoga is often seen as a way to achieve a sense of unity between the individual and the universe, fostering a more profound connection with oneself and the surrounding world. There are different forms of yoga, each with its emphasis—some focus more on the physical postures, while others emphasize meditation or breath control.
Yoga offers a comprehensive approach to enhancing physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, making it a popular practice for people seeking balance and harmony in their lives.
VINYASA Yoga
Vinyasa yoga is a dynamic and flowing style of yoga that synchronizes movement with breath. It involves a series of poses that smoothly transition from one to another, often linked together by a sequence called a "vinyasa flow." Each movement is coordinated with either an inhale or an exhale, creating a continuous and rhythmic practice.
The word "vinyasa" can be translated as "to place in a special way" or "to flow." In vinyasa yoga, the sequences can vary widely in terms of pace, intensity, and difficulty, as instructors have the freedom to create their own sequences and structure classes according to their preferences.
This style of yoga not only focuses on physical postures (asanas) but also emphasizes the connection between movement and breath, encouraging practitioners to cultivate mindfulness, concentration, and a meditative state during the practice.
Vinyasa yoga can offer a variety of benefits, including improved flexibility, strength, balance, stress reduction, and a sense of relaxation and mental clarity. It's a popular style for those seeking both a physical workout and a way to connect with their breath and inner self.
BALANCE
Balance yoga combines elements of many yoga styles with a primary focus to improving core strength, balance, stability, and coordination through a flow of poses and movements.
Balance yoga isn't just about physical balance; it can also help bring mental and emotional equilibrium by fostering mindfulness and concentration. Practicing balance poses can enhance body awareness, improve posture, and develop a sense of steadiness both on and off the yoga mat.
